National Religious Freedom Day!

Sunday, Jan.16th is National Religious Freedom Day. That is one of the main pillars our country was founded upon. The Pilgrims were tired of being persecuted for not following the rules of the Church of England that basically did what the king told them to. They gathered together what they could and began to find ways to get to the "New World".
It is vital to us to protect this freedom! We all have the freedom to worship or not as WE choose, not as the government chooses. We don't have to worry about being forced to join one group or abandon another. There are not a lot of countries where this is possible outside of Western Europe, Japan, S. Korea, Australia & New Zealand!
We do not need the Muslims sharia law, or any other tenets from any religion including Christianity, forced upon us. That is what makes us a great country in spite of the various problems we wrestle with from day to day.
Exercise your prayerful spirit. Please remember to pray for our continued religious freedom. As we get further into the "last days", Christians will be persecuted more & more in the West as they already are in quite a few places around the world. There are a great many martyrs in Christiandom, that we may be unaware of here in our somewhat  insulated lifestyles!
In conclusion PRAY....pray for our continued freedom, pray for those who do not enjoy our level of freedom, pray for those suffering around he world from hunger, disease, persecution, Some of these people could be your close neighbors or friends. "Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit." 1st Thessalonians 5:17-19.
